The houses are named after the paintings that live in them. There are three, they are different, and they stand on the same olive hill above Bagnola. What they share is the quiet, and the short walk down to the water.
The houses
From the most intimate to the most generous. Choose with your eyes: each has its own light, its own outdoor space and its own idea of a holiday.

A contemporary open plan looking onto the village of Bagnola: dark walls, exposed beams, a white kitchen that folds away. The double bed comes out of the wall and the room changes job twice a day. Outside, the lawn is yours alone — with the pergola, the olive tree and the gas barbecue.

And across their faces rise storms, calms, currents, and the leap of fish that dream of flight.
You go up and down: living room and kitchen below, bathroom on the mezzanine, bedroom under the roof. Everything is pale — sand and linen — with the brass fish on the wall that give the house its name. The patio, in front of the terracotta façade, looks out over the countryside.

The largest of the three, and the only one with a view of the water. Two double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, three bathrooms in all, and a living room that holds a whole family. The portraits and line drawings hanging everywhere gave it its name. On the patio, the old olive tree and the sun loungers.

The place
The Gulf of Poets can be crossed on foot, by boat, or in half an hour by car. Below is what we do ourselves when we have a free day. The full area guide tells each place at length.
Two hundred and fifty metres downhill and you are on the beach. The rest is a book under the olive trees.
Cross the road and you are on the Marigola green.
Pugliola, Tellaro, La Serra, Montemarcello. And the view as far as Portovenere.

Getting here
From the San Terenzo seafront take Via XX Settembre and carry on for about 200 metres. Past the cemetery, continue another 50. Just before the bridge, turn right: you have arrived.
Sat-navs often pick the wrong road into Bagnola. Tell us where you're coming from: we'll open directions via Le Delizie del Mare, on the seafront, coming up from there along Via XX Settembre — the right way in, even by car.
