Golf Club Marigola is Lerici's golf course: nine holes, par 28, laid out on terraces between San Terenzo and Lerici, with the Gulf of Poets below and the castle in view. Il Capolavoro is 250 metres away, a four-minute walk. Three self-contained houses, each with its own parking space — play in the morning, swim in the afternoon.
The course
A short, technical nine-hole course where accuracy matters more than length. Narrow fairways between olive trees, small English-style greens guarded by bunkers, some out-of-bounds and a lake. Go round twice for a full eighteen.
Designed by the architects Marmori and Bellò, the course sits on the old Ligurian terraces overlooking the Gulf of Poets. Almost every hole is a par 3; the sixth is a short par 4 with water alongside and bunkers in front of the green. The raised tee on the second looks out to sea, the third plays towards Lerici castle, and on the eighth a lake sits right after the tee.
The club was founded in 1987 and has been affiliated with the Italian Golf Federation since that year. A driving range was added in the early 2000s, and in February 2026 the course was rated under the World Handicap System, so rounds played here can count towards your handicap. The club publishes course ratings for both the 9-hole (par 28) and the 18-hole (par 56) round.
A little history
Marigola Golf occupies land that once belonged to the Villa Marigola estate, around the Venere Azzurra beach. As early as 1960 the owners built three holes for their own use; at the end of the 1980s the course was redesigned as a nine-hole layout.

Before you go
Visitors can play Marigola on a day green fee or a nine-hole green fee, and there is a separate ticket for the driving range only. The club recommends booking your tee time with the office. Rates and hours change, so check them on the club's official website.
This year's rates are on the club's Rates page (in Italian); course and office hours, phone and email are on its Contact page. The website does not state a minimum handicap for green fees: if in doubt, ask the club office before you travel.

Via Vassale, Bagnola
Il Capolavoro is on Via Vassale, in the Bagnola area, about 250 metres from the course — a four-minute walk. You head out with your bag over your shoulder and the car stays in the house's free parking space, for the whole holiday if you like.
This matters most in summer, when Lerici runs a limited traffic zone and the club asks anyone arriving by car to register their number plate at the office. We explain how driving and parking work in town in Parking in Lerici. San Terenzo beach is also a four-minute walk from the house.
Marigola golf club accommodation
For a golfing couple, I Particolari or I Pesci: homes for two with room for four, a fully equipped kitchen and air conditioning. For a group coming to play together, Ritratto di Donna: up to eight guests, three bathrooms and the only sea view of the three.

On a week's stay you can mix Marigola with an eighteen-hole course. In Versilia, near Pisa and on the Riviera di Levante there are three courses you can drive to and back in a day; the times below are approximate, without traffic.
